West Ham have once again been linked with a struggling English striker.
Since Graham Potter’s appointment, West Ham have averaged fewer shots per game than any team in the Premier League. However, it’s clear that the Hammers are a much better side than they were under Lopetegui, so what’s the deal?
Well, aside from putting a bigger emphasis on being strong defensively, the Hammers are without any kind of striker. Although they have players who can score goals, they are in desperate need of a No.9.
Reports would suggest they could strangely go for a striker with an awful goal scoring record in a bizarre move to try and solve their striker woes. Tammy Abraham has failed to reach double digits in any of his last 3 seasons, and he is currently struggling to find any type of form during his loan spell to AC Milan.
Aside from his abysmal goal tally, his injury record is absolutely horrific, another reason our Irons should steer well clear.
With there being so many good options out there, signing the Englishman seems like an awful decision to make. Although any player can prove fans wrong, there’s little to suggest that Abraham could change his fortune in claret and blue.
