Former West Ham manager’s potential move to new club is great news for the East London side.

Julen Lopetegui’s time at West Ham will be infamous. After spending a ridiculous amount on transfers, he was only able to make a side that had three consecutive seasons of European football regress.

As a result, the Spaniard was sacked at the beginning of the year, but the club still have to pay him huge compensation payments.

Thankfully, these could be about to come to an end as Mexican side Monterray are pushing for the signing, reports have claimed.

Given that his former player Sergio Ramos is at the club, there could be real temptation to reunite.

This would potentially allow for slightly more to be spent on transfers or, more significantly, bigger wages. Although it was absolutely the right decision to get rid of him, having to pay someone you don’t employ is anything but ideal.
