West Ham are understood to have snubbed an opportunity to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford this summer.
It what many associated with the club will see as a welcome change in strategy, West Ham feel that with the player at 29 years old, it would not represent a sensible move, as the club look to bring in a new striker for Graham Potter during the next transfer window.
The striker position has for years been one that the club has continuously failed to address, with a desperate approach always appearing to be the overwhelming gameplan as we tend to overpay and obtain players what simply do not fit the system.
This can again be applied to Niclas Fullkrug, whom we signed just last summer for £27m, despite the player having a concerning injury record whilst being 32 years of age.
However, it appears West Ham have finally learnt their lessons, but dismissing an chance to sign Wissa from the Bees.
Wissa is of course a very good striker, but at 29 years of age, its about time the club drew a line under the previous approach, and seek out players who can be here and lead the line for the long term.
