Graham Potter has made a decision on underrated West Ham man’s future.

Although there are many issues with the squad, arguably the route of most of West Ham’s problem is their midfield. It has little ability to transition from defence to attack, no real ball carrier, and absolutely no pace.

While he’s not been a solution to all those issues, James Ward-Prowse has done an excellent job at improving upon some of them.

Lopetegui and Steidten allowed the midfielder to leave on loan in the Summer, a baffling decision which bore no benefit to the club, the player, or Nottingham Forest.

Despite impressing since his return, the former Southampton captain’s future has been up in the air. Thankfully, according to reports, Potter has decided to keep him for next season.

When taking into account how big of a mistake it was to let him go on loan, it would seem stupid to just let him leave when he clearly has so much to offer to the side. He may not be young, he may not be quick, but he’s got everything else you’d want in a midfielder.
