West Ham’s rivals join the race for teenage star, but they won’t be too worried.

A lot of West Ham’s most successful signings in the modern era have come from pinching players from the Championship. Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell, and Jarrod Bowen all started in the lower leagues yet have been immense value for money.

The Hammers are reportedly hoping to replicate this success once again in the coming transfer window by signing Sunderland Starlet Chris Rigg.

With 56 league appearances over the last two Championship seasons, the 17-year-old is clearly destined to have a bright future.

As it stands, the East London side are said to be £10 million short of Sunderland’s valuation, but they may have to fight off stiff competition for his signature with rivals Tottenham now interested.

Thankfully, they shouldn’t be too worried. Rigg’s family are said to be pushing for him to move to the London Stadium as they believe it’s the place where he’s most likely to develop and push forward with his career.
