West Ham appear to be planning for life after Karren Brady as new executive director could become CEO in the future.
Nathan Thompson has been promoted from West Ham’s head of commercial operations to executive director due to his fantastic work and he has now been talked up as a future CEO.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Thompson could have been earmarked to replace Karren Brady in the future. He told Football Insider: “There are not that many executive directors on that board. There are lots of non-execs but not many execs. I think there are two now.
“Karen Brady is vice-chair. I would say that it’s a sign that he may well be being earmarked for the CEO role at some point. I think it’s a big endorsement of the job that he’s been doing.
“I think it would be a watch this space development. I doubt it’s imminent, but maybe it serves as a successor to Karren Brady at some point.”
A large section of West Ham supporters has wanted Karren Brady out of the club since we moved to the London Stadium in 2016. While the calls for Brady and the owners’ heads have cooled in recent years, due to our success and the investment from Daniel Kretinsky.
However, if Brady was replaced a lot of West Ham fans would breathe a sigh of relief. And who knows, maybe without Brady in charge, there might be more chance of some much-needed further improvements to the London Stadium to make our experience as fans better.
