West Ham fans told to brace for full takeover as owners look for out.
While far from the worst owners in England, just look at Reading, the majority of West Ham fans are not particularly fond of their owners. Poor decisions and mismanagement have held back the club from reaching a new level.
However, former Everton chief and elite football consultant Keith Wyness claims that the Hammers could soon be under new stewardship.
“It looked fascinating when Kretinsky came in,” he explained to Football Insider. “He was tipped to be buying the whole club and he was going to just do it bit by bit.”
“If I remember correctly, there was just a contract around the stadium with the city and the owners there that they couldn’t sell the whole club or else they’d have to pay a portion of that valuation back to the city.”
“He didn’t go forward for whatever reason. I’ve been told he fell in love with West Ham, but then seems to have fallen out of love with West Ham.”
“I think it isn’t just Kretinsky that might be selling his stake. I think the whole club at some stage could be looking to be acquired.”
“As I often do, if you went down the whole league table and you looked at each club, you’d think that probably West Ham is the one, maybe with Wolves as well, are the two clubs that could be for sale in the near future.”
Unfortunately, when it comes to owners, the grass isn’t always greener. The wrong people buying the club could be absolutely disastrous. On the other side of things though, you could get someone who really matches the ambition of the fanbase and gives us unimaginable success.
