West Ham eye £17 million replacement for struggling player.
While it’s certainly improved since the change in manager, West Ham’s defence this season has been shambolic. Goals have leaked in and it’s led to some embarrassing defeats.
Although he’s obviously not the only reason, far from it, Mavropanos has been the player that’s been singled out for his awful performances. Whether it’s a back 5 or a back 3, he proves to be a liability.
Fortunately, it’s an issue the club are keen to address with multiple potential replacemnets being lined up. According to reports, one player on that list is Kevin Lomonaco.
The Argentine has spent his career so far in South America but looks ready to make the step up.
At 23-years-old, there’s still plenty of time to get him up to speed. £17 million is a lot for an unproven player, especially from South America, but playing in a back 3 could allow him more time to adapt.
