West Ham take on Bournemouth today hoping for a much improved performance and morale boosting win.
Although there has undoubtedly been an improvement in terms of our Hammers being more organised and difficult to beat, there is now a focus on improving our attacking intent, which many will hope to see increased upon today.
As has been reported on The West Ham Way Patreon, the shift in formation against Wolves which saw an improved 2nd half display could well see that implemented from the off by Graham Potter.
“West Ham go into the game having seen a change of formation and personal trigger a much better second half performance against Wolves,” stated ExWHUEmployee. “The switch to 4 at the back from 5 could mean that Potter choses to stick with this for the encounter with Bournemouth.
“It was hoped that Mo Kudus would be fit for this game and he did train yesterday. French defender Jean-Clair Todibo should have shaken off a bug to be available and could replace Mavropanos at the back.
“The manager may be tempted to bring in Niclas Fullkrug at the expense of Evan Ferguson with the Irish forward brought off at half time. Fullkrug however was thought to have picked up a minor injury in training again and may still not be considered fit enough. The manager could also choose to play Bowen upfront again. This also means that Guilherme is likely to not start this game. Lucas Paqueta is still available for the side despite on going betting investigations.
“There will also be a dilemma between Ollie Scarles and Emerson and who gets the nod in defence.
“The likes of Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez will be pushing for a start and a potential change of formation could see Aaron Cresswell be removed from the team.”
The visitors will be without Ryan Christie through injury, however Justin Kluivert has an outside chance as he battles back from his own injury complaint.
