West Ham are showing a keen interest in Liam Delap ahead of this summer transfer window, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

It is widely anticipated that the club will once again see a significant overhaul of the squad come the end of this season, with Graham Potter wanting to shape a team that fit his vision for the club.

One area in particular that has plagued West Ham for many years is the striker role, with many question marks over who will be coming in and also depart the club.

As has been reported previously, the club have identified Lille striker and free-agent this summer Jonathan David as a key target, with talks understood to have already taken place between West Ham and the player and his representatives.

However, its now been reported that West Ham are also showing a keen interest in Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, who has a £40m release clause in his current contract.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, club insider ExWHUEmployee has advised that Delap is highly admired and the club will explore a potential move.

“Liam Delap is a player highly admired by Graham Potter and with a £40m release clause it’s likely to be a serious option as we get closer to the summer transfer window,” stated Ex.

“We really like him and he’s certainly ahead of others including Evan Ferguson for that position.”

Ex has also advised that it appears confidence has grown over the potential signing of Jonathan David, however competition is still expected to be fierce for his signature.
