Graham Potter had defended his record so far at West Ham whilst admitting the demands are high.
There is no doubt that our Hammers are a far more organised outfit under Potter, however there is now a push from fans to see more in the attacking sense, as we look to finish the season on a high.
“When you’re a Premier League side, with big demands, you understand expectations,” said the Hammers boss, as reported by the clubs Official Website.
“Scorelines affect things, but margins are very tight in this league. We know where we’ve made progress – particularly in defence – but at the same time we need to attack and play better. But that’s where the work is. We need to finish off as strong as we can.
“We’ve had a lot of injury issues. If you’re conceding a lot of goals, you’re going to suffer no matter what, so we’ve worked on improving that.
“Apart from patches against Brentford and Wolves, we’ve been really competitive. Things can turn quickly, but we are looking to improve.”
Potter was full of praise for Niclas Fullkrug, who has impressed since coming into the side from a long-term injury, with hope we will see another big impact from him at Anfield.
“Clearly he’s a top player, and you can see that with the impact he had against Wolves and Bournemouth,” added Potter.
“He gives us a different outlet. He’s got a great personality, and we like him a lot, but he’s had a complicated season. We’re trying to manage it so he can play as many minutes, safely.”
