West Ham have been tipped to sign a 38-year-old Premier League great.
Learning from past mistakes isn’t something West Ham are particularly great at. Whether it’s signing injury prone players, strikers that don’t suit their system, or bringing in good players but when they’re past their best, these are issues that the club make time and time again. Unfortunately, it’s been claimed that they could be about to once again do the latter.
According to reports, West Ham are keen on signing Jamie Vardy if Leicester are relegated this season.
While undoubtedly one of the best strikers the Premier League has had, Vardy is 38-years-old now. Scoring 7 goals for a team destined to go down isn’t awful, but it’s certainly not great either.
Realistically, Vardy should be looking to retire soon and West Ham should not continue to be a retirement home for players at the end of their career.
