West Ham are understood to have informed Edson Alvarez that he is surplus to requirements and will be sold this summer.
The Mexican international, who headed to east London back in the summer of 2023, is one on a list of many that is set to depart the club as Graham Potter makes room and builds funds for a summer rebuild.
Despite Alvarez enjoying a relatively successful opening season at the club, its fair to say this season has showcased a player that simply needs to move on, with a clear eye on a move ever since he arrived.
The player was close to securing a move in the previous summer transfer window, however an injury he sustained while away on international duty scuppered the move, which was said to be to Manchester United.
As has been reported by Gonzo on Claret & Hugh, its understood the club will accept offers in the region of £30m for the Mexico captain.
It was previously reported also by ExWHUEmployee that Alvarez was a likely departure this summer, with Graham Potter eager to inject more youth and energy into a West Ham side that have shown throughout this season that it needs a lot of work.
