Former Premier League star says West Ham have no chance of signing their top striker target.

With it being reported that up to 15 players could be leaving the club this Summer, it’s vital that West Ham start laying the foundations for their massive rebuild now.

While it’s hard to know what positions they need to prioritise until players are sold, one area they simply must add to is their strikers. If they fail to bring in someone who can consistently find the back of the net then they may end up facing the drop next year.

In order to avoid this fate, the Hammers are keen on signing Liam Delap, who has a release clause of £30 million.

Although it would be a superb signing, Ben Foster thinks there’s little to no chance of the Irons securing his signature.

“If West Ham sign Liam Delap in the summer, then that is the signing of the season,” the former Manchester United keeper stated.

“It’s not happening, by the way, definitely not happening. He’ll go to one of the big boys, it’s a no-brainer. £30m quid is no risk whatsoever.”

Admittedly, it will be a tough deal to get over the line, but considering the players said he wants to go where he’ll play the most it seems ridiculous to rule West Ham out.
