West Ham concede two late goals to lose to Brighton in embarrassing style.
This season cannot be over quick enough. It’s been extremely frustrating watching West Ham this season. Fans pay ridiculous amounts of money to watch this team up and down the country for the players to simply not deliver every single week.
Brighton is a team the Hammers have an abysmal record against, with just one league win in 11 years, but this weekend’s game might be the most infuriating of the lot.
The hosts took the lead through Ayari. Although it was a screamer, the lack of pressure and the space he was given is ridiculous.
West Ham found the equaliser through Mohammed Kudus shortly after half-time and took the lead in the 83rd minute as Soucek got on the end of an unbelievable Bowen cross.
Unfortunately, the Hammers couldn’t help but capitulate. Mitoma equalised six minutes after Soucek’s goal, and Baleba scored a last-minute winner with another 35 yard screamer (which came with all the same mistakes as the opener).
It’s clear that this team needs to be gutted and rebuilt. Players aren’t playing for the badge and it cannot be allowed to continue.
What the solution is at this point is anyone’s guess, we just have to be thankful that there’s three teams worse than us. If things aren’t completely fixed in the Summer though, it’s hard to imagine then club surviving another season in the top flight.
