West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville has undergone surgery on his hamstring, with ExWHUEmployee providing an exclusive update.

The Dutchman has been missing since January, with the former Leeds United player suffering a hamstring injury during Graham Potters first game in charge, against Aston Villa.

It was understood the player had refused surgery and attempted to recovery without the need of going under the knife. However this has now changed.

“Crysencio Summerville has had an operation on his injured hamstring,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“The player has been out of action since the Aston Villa cup game. The player had wanted to avoid surgery and heal naturally but it seems that he has now reluctantly had the operation.

“We can exclusively reveal that due to waiting longer for the operation than needed, the operation was now a much more complicated operation than it would have been before.

“The initial verdict is that he will be back in mid August at the earliest, now as a result.”
