I’m Rehanne Skinner has committed her future to West Ham Women after signing a new deal. The Hammers boss highlighted the team spirit and collective effort behind the scenes as key reasons for extending her stay at the Club.
Since joining West Ham back in 2023, Skinner has overseen a growth in belief and cohesion within her Hammers squad. Under her guidance, the team have achieved some standout results against some of the WSL’s top sides and celebrated a Club record 7-1 WSL win away against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The Hammers boss highlighted the unity amongst players and staff as key to the team having progressed, she also recognised the West Ham fans support of her side through thick and thin. She discussed how the fan’s support had pushed the team over the line in some big moments and important games. Skinner is hopeful she and her players can deliver more special moments for Hammers fans moving forward.
Speaking to the Club’s media team after the news of her contract extension became official, Skinner said: “The players, the staff, and the fans have just been superb and so I’m delighted to look forward to the next chapter, and what we can achieve next.”
Reflecting on the identity her West Ham side has built over the past 18 months, one defined by resilience, belief, and togetherness, Skinner said: “The never say die attitude has been something that we’ve really wanted to show to the fans, that we’re prepared to do whatever it takes.”
Skinner added: “I think we’re all working and pulling in the same direction, which is only natural that it takes time for us to be able to do that, and I think that shows the progress that’s been made within the Club.”
With the season drawing to a close, Skinner’s focus is on ending the campaign strongly and then building on the strides already made: “I think right here, right now, we want to try and get as many points on the board as we possibly can and keep working in the same way that we have with our performances, and then we’ll obviously review that properly as a team and look at what we can take forward.”
Skinner’s new deal feels like a natural step that gives West Ham a solid platform to continue their progress heading into next season.
