Julen Lopetegui set for new managerial job despite torrid time at West Ham.

Although Graham Potter hasn’t particularly improved results, Julen Lopetegui will go down as one of West Ham’s worst ever managers. The football under him was abysmal, and it makes it shocking that he’s managed the likes of Spain and Real Madrid,

Surprisingly though, the Spaniard is set to be in for another national team job, with him becoming the Qatar national team head coach.

While it’s not a massive job, given how poorly he’s done in recent years, and particularly in East London, it’s a little shocking that he’s managed to find another job just a few months after he got sacked.

“Ready for a new chapter. Welcome Lopetegui,” the Qatari FA said. “We’re excited to embark on this journey together.”

It’s Lopetegui’s first time coaching outside of Europe, so it will be interesting to see how he adapts.

Despite being a poor manager for the club, there’s no faulting the man and his commitment so hopefully he can go on to succeed in his new role.
