West Ham have identified Ivory Coast international Karim Konaté as a player of serious interest this summer, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The club is set for a highly significant summer transfer window ahead, with much turnover in 1st team playing staff expected, as Graham Potter looks to build his squad for the 2025/26 season, which will carry much pressure on delivering far better than the current campaign has unfolded.

As has been previously reported by our club insider Ex, the club are willing to listen to offers for many players, with only the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Academy players emerging are deemed not for sale.

With the current season thankfully drawing to a close, its understood that Potter and his Head of Recruitment Kyle Macaulay are working on key targets for the window, with Ex advising that Karim Konaté is seen as a player the club will look to explore a potential deal.

The RB Salzburg forward, who despite only being 21 years of age, has scored 24 goals in 47 appearances thus far for the club, whilst representing Ivory Coast on 19 occasions, scoring twice for his country.

Konate is described as a player who elusive and slippery movement, making him hard to track both on and off the ball. He is a forward who excels at top-level acceleration, speed, and agility, allowing him to navigate tight spaces and create scoring opportunities. Konaté is also a slick dribbler and has a good finishing ability from both his head and feet. He can play as a center-forward but often drifts to the left wing, showing versatility.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast this week, Ex advised that the club see Konate as a potential key target.

“One player to keep an eye on is Karim Konaté of RB Salzburg,” stated Ex. “He’s a player that is admired by Graham Potter and one that the club could well look to ramp up interest with a move this summer as part of the significant rebuild.”
