West Ham have two standouts for this seasons Hammer of the Year award.

It’s difficult to look back on the campaign with much pride of optimism, considering how events have unfolded, despite such promise ahead of the season last summer.

However, the torrid 2024/25 season is now thankfully drawing to a close, with fans asked to cast their vote for the Hammer of the Year – where fans can VOTE HERE.

The West Ham Way Podcast duo Dave Walker and ExWHUEmployee have both cast their votes and given their thoughts, with it clear that this really is a battle between two players this season.

“For me it’s between two players, Bowen and AWB,” stated Walker. “My vote will go to AWB because he has shown the right attitude since coming to the club, he has been consistent with his performances and whilst he has been solid defensively, he has also been one of our best players going forward!”

Ex agreed with his co-host, highlighting the impact Wan-Bissaka has made since his move from Manchester United last summer.

“It’s so close for me between AWB and Bowen and one day I think one and the next I think the other,” said Ex. “I think my final decision will be AWB though.

“He has been so consistent this year both in defence and further up the field. Every game alongside Bowen he seems our most dangerous player going forward.

“Coming from Manchester United to West Ham could have potentially seen him take a while to settle or to get his confidence back but he has been brilliant from the start. He has also had to cover at left back numerous times this season too.

“Of course, I dread to think where we would be without Bowen. He has also captained the side this year and cemented his England place. I just feel compared to last season and ones before he perhaps didn’t reach his own very very high bar which is why I think AWB edges it.

“Soucek comes a distant third for me with his constant threat, goals and obvious passion for the club”
