Graham Potter is eager to see his West Ham side go and grab a much needed win at Old Trafford.
Although there is nothing left to play for other than pride and climbing spots at the bottom end of the table, it’s clear that the Hammers boss wants to lift the mood in east London.
“You can try new things, but you have to be careful not to chase your tail,” Potter told the press, as reported by the club’s Official Website.
“The margins in this league are so tight, but no-one’s getting away from the fact we’re disappointed overall with the season. Hopefully on Sunday we can put in a good performance and get a good result.
“We had the mistake against Tottenham, but that can happen. At Brighton, we conceded two very good goals. That’s just how it is – you have to go through those moments, but we have a chance of knowing what we need to do to move forward.”
Potter spoke of this weekends opponents in Manchester United, stating that he doesn’t care how they go into this match, as he’s fully focused on his team only and getting a result.
“We have no idea how Manchester United will approach the game,” added Potter. “It’s always complicated at Old Trafford, but we have to focus on ourselves and try to get the three points.
“We want to try and win and it doesn’t matter about the opponent.
“I think the club’s in a position where there’s a lot of change, and credit to the club and the fans for supporting him.
“They’re in the Europa League final, so there’s a chance to finish well.”
