West Ham defeated once again in their final home game of the season.
After a rather pleasant change of pace against Manchester United, reality was always going to come crashing back down.
As has been the case so often under Graham Potter, the Hammers just were not up to the task. Nottingham Forest deserved to win the match, and 2-1 flatters West Ham.
Jamie Carragher summed up the mood perfectly “they’re not angry, they’re just bored.” It’s an absolute chore to watch this club, and it’s no wonder so many are deciding to give up their season tickets.
While this may not be the worst West Ham side in even my life time, there’s certainly never been such a disconnect between the fans and the club.
The only consolation, as always, was Jarrod Bowen. The winger scored a world-class consolation goal which would be spoken about non-stop if it was scored by Saka or Salah.
Possession and shots may have been heavily in the Hammers favour, but anyone who watched the game will know stats do not tell the true picture. Thank god this season is almost over.
