Luis Guilherme should be a vital player for West Ham next season.

Given that he was signed for a whopping £25 million after multiple failed trips to Brazil, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Luis Guilherme was just a panic buy from Tim Steidten.

However, anyone who’s watched the 18-year-old play knows that he has the potential to be a special player. His ability on the ball, to stay on his feet, and a fair burst of pace make him a dangerous option to have.

Despite such limited game time, he’s shown exactly why he was bought.

Given that there’s expected to be a huge number of outgoings this Summer, it makes total sense that he would be a first-team regular next season.

Even with just 139 Premier League minutes, you can see the potential is sky high and this is made even better by the fact that, from the outside, it seems like he has a great attitude and work ethic.

In my mind, it would be absolutely ludicrous to get rid of him permanently. At the very least he should get a loan to a top Championship side, but I don’t think that’s necessary.

If continues to develop how he should and if he begins to get more consistent minutes Steidten may have actually found a gem. He should be kept  for another year at least, it’s highly unlikely to affect his value; what’s there to lose?
