West Ham reignite interest in a striker they could’ve signed for half the price.

Wherever it’s paper talk or genuine interest, West Ham seem to be repeatedly linked with the same players over and over again.

Despite bringing in Kyle Macaulay as a new head of recruitment, old targets still seem to reemerge. The latest one is said to be Valentin Castellanos.

The Argentinian striker has been linked with a move to East London a few times since 2022. Previously, it was claimed they could have secured his signature from New York City FC for around £10-15 mllion. However, after a successful spell at Girona and hitting double digits in Serie A this season, his new club Lazionare said to be demanding £30 million.

While a decent player, it would be incredibly frustrating to see the club pay that much for him mot only because of  his mediocre goal scoring record, but particularly because they could have had him for much less.
