West Ham enter the race for top Serie A defender.

Despite some improvements under Graham Potter, West Ham’s defence has still been dastardly. On paper, they have an incredibly solid back line, but the central players make too many mistakes.

As a result, the club have decided signing a centre-back is one of their top priorities in the coming window.

The Hammers need to sign some top players if they’re going to get back on track next season, and signing their reported target Yann Bisseck would go a long way to helping that.

While he featured a fair amount of times last season, it’s this year that the 24-year-old has really made an impact on the Inter Milan first team. Not only has he been important to their title push, but he’s been critical in getting them to the Champions League final, playing 12 times in the competition.

Standing at a staggering 6’5, he’s everything you’d want in a modern defender. He’s defensively sound, strong on the ball, and has a good eye for a pass.

Unsurprisingly, competition is extremely strong for him, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Crystal Palace all said to be eyeing up a move.

With no European football to offer, it could be difficult for the Hammers to convince the German, but if they can he would be a real improvement on the likes of Mavropanos.
