Graham Potter is eager to see his West Ham side finish on a high after such a disappointing season.
It’s been a 2024/25 campaign to forget, with enough drama and frustration to last a lifetime in east London, with hope that a big summer of change ahead points towards a positive direction for a club that has massively under achieved this season.
West Ham face relegated Ipswich on Sunday as the curtain comes down on the torrid season, however Potter says this is a very important game and one he is desperate to see his side claim a big 3 points.
“It’s very important for us,” Potter told the press, as reported by the clubs Official Website. “We want to finish as high as we can, and a win will give us the best chance of doing that. After that, we need to look at how we improve.
“We had disappointment after last week’s game. We made sure we gave the players some time to clear their heads and recover. Then we’ve had a good few days, and the boys are looking forward to the final match. It’s one more push, and we’ll do everything we can.”
Potter also talked about the news that captain Jarrod Bowen did not make Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the upcoming games, which came as a shock to many considering his excellent form of late.
“It’s not my thing to pick the England squad, and I have full respect for Thomas Tuchel,” added Potter. “I’m disappointed for Jarrod, but he accepts the decision, he’s trained well with us and he’ll be looking to win the game on Sunday.”
