Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown would be the perfect signing for Graham Potter at West Ham this summer.

The Hammers will be in need of a left sided wing-back as Emerson Palmieri is expected to leave East London this summer, and Ollie Scarles isn’t quite ready to be the main man.

The player I believe would be perfect to replace, and improve on Emerson would be Nathaniel Brown of Eintracht Frankfurt. The 21-year-old German-American is exactly what we’re missing on the left side.

The 21-year-old joined Frankfurt from Nuremburg last summer after making 11 appearances for his hometown club in the second division during the 23/24 season. He even clocked the fastest speed in the squad at 35.5km/h, pace is something we’re really lacking and is important we recruit it out on the flanks this summer.

Despite his very little appearances in the Bundesliga 2, it took Brown just two months to break into the Frankfurt first-team and almost instantly become one of their best players in their run to the Europa League semi-final.

He’s rapid, creative, very solid defensively and versatile. As well as shining at left-wing-back for Frankfurt he can also play as a full-back and on the opposite flank and invert, he was likened to Cancelo by the official Bundesliga site. He can even do a job in midfield if needed.

This is exactly what West Ham need, a player that’s young, exciting, versatile and has a very good injury record, only missing 5 matches in his career so far. His versatility would allow Wan-Bissaka to sometimes play on the left, where he has shone almost every time he’s played there this season.

Brown has scored 3 goals and provided 7 assists in the Bundesliga this season, showing his contribution in the attacking third of the pitch is more than just creativity, he can also find the back of the net. West Ham need more goals from other area’s so having a wing-back that can find the back of the net would be excellent.

The Germany U21 International has been sporadically linked with move to Liverpool and Arsenal, however, Liverpool look set to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth and Arsenal are stacked at left-back due to the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The Hammers could be in the driving seat if he wants to move to the Premier League. However, he only signed a new contract till 2030 in February, so if we want him, it could cost more than £20m to tempt die Schwarzgelben.
