German International striker Niclas Füllkrug’s future lies on the bench at West Ham United this season, and it could be a very important weapon for Graham Potter.

It is no secret that West Ham want to sign a striker in the summer transfer window. With Danny Ings leaving and Michail Antonio looking likely to go also, Fullkrug will be the only senior striker at the club.

Graham Potter likes the German striker, but reports and common sense suggest the former Seagulls manager prefers him off the bench as an impact sub because of his lack of pace. He wants to use him as an impact sub to head in a late barrage of crosses, according to Mail Sport.

Potter wants and needs to bring in a striker that is full of energy and dynamism. We’ve been linked with a lot of players from Liam Delap to Tammy Abraham. But, I believe the best option would be Emanuel Emegha of Strasbourg.

The Dutchman looked likely to join Chelsea from Strasbourg, however, the Blues just signed Liam Delap so that might leave the door open for us to make a move for the 22-year-old.

If we can have someone like Emegha as first choice, with Fullkrug as bench option. the striker position would be sorted. With no European football, we might be able to get by with just two strikers, however, we know our luck with strikers so it would make sense to have a third.

Michail Antonio could yet sign a short-term contract, so he could be that man. But if not, we have recently been linked with Wycombe Wanderers’ 21-year-old striker Richard Kone who scored 21 goals for the Chairboys this season. The Ivorian could be an excellent squad option.
