West Ham’s chances of signing Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez could be boosted as Chelsea chase AC Milan and France goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Chelsea have opened talks with AC Milan over the signing of their 29-year-old keeper Mike Maignan. If a move were to come to fruition, it would make Robert Sanchez’s potential move to East London a lot more likely to happen.

The West Londoners have reportedly made a £15m offer for the French goalkeeper, which seems very cheap, but he is in the final year of his contract, so this might be the last chance to get a big sum of money for one of the best keepers in Europe. The £15m bid was rejected, but Chelsea are expected to come in with another offer and get a deal done.

Graham Potter is keen to bring in a goalkeeper this season after Areola’s struggles with distribution last season. Sanchez was a key player for Graham Potter at Brighton, so it makes a lot of sense as to why we would be interested.

Sanchez hasn’t had the greatest of seasons in a Blue shirt, however, his form really picked up towards the end of the season as Enzo Maresca’s side managed to finish in a Champions League place.

Sanchez is one of a few players we are interested in signing from Chelsea this summer, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Josh Acheampong other names that have been mentioned

However, the Hammers aren’t willing to sign those players in any deal involving Mohammed Kudus going the other way. The Blues reportedly suggested a cash + player bid for the Ghanaian, but the Hammers want straight-up cash for the former Ajax man.

Out of all the goalkeepers the Hammers have been linked to this summer, including Aaron Ramsdale and Noah Atubolu, Robert Sanchez would probably be the most likely to happen due to his availability, price, and the fact that he worked very well under the manager previously.
