TalkSPORT’s Rory Jennings believes West Ham are genuine candidates for relegation under Graham Potter this season.
The combination of last season and the slow start to the transfer window has the majority of the West Ham fanbase nervous going into the 2025/26 Premier League campaign, and that hasn’t been boosted at all by Rory Jennings of TalkSPORT.
The YouTuber turned talksport pundit is a huge Chelsea fan and is known for his controversial opinions; however, he is usually quite positive about West Ham as a club, and he hasn’t changed that stance, he just isn’t confident about the Hammers going into next season.
Jennings said: “I’ve never known a manager who is so not befitting the club.”
“West Ham United are a proud club with a rich history, with a chip on their shoulder and a very passionate and vocal fanbase. None of that chimes with the man that Graham Potter is.
“Nothing about West Ham United sits comfortably with Graham Potter at the helm. Whilst he is there, I think they are genuine relegation candidates.”
Almost every football fan who knows of Rory Jennings wants to disagree with him because of some of his wild takes; however, there aren’t many arguments to be had here.
Since Potter has arrived in East London, it’s been quite hard to get behind him because of the football we’ve been playing and his attitude in interviews. He isn’t the type of character that Irons fans usually connect with. And what makes it even harder to back him is the fact the board doesn’t seem to be backing him either.
The three previous managers Manuel Pellegrini, David Moyes, and Julen Lopetegui were back massively in the market, while Graham Potter is currently being told we need to sell before we can buy. There is a lot of talk about financial constraints, but could the real reason we haven’t spent money yet be because we’re not convinced Graham Potter is going to be the right man to take us forward?
