West Ham are targeting uninspiring Premier League winger.

After an abysmal season, whether or not it’s true, the message that the club are short on cash is not one fans wanted to hear. When a total rebuild is necessary, you want to see the club upgrade its current players.

Despite the latter’s poor form, there’s no world where Marcus Tavernier should be replacing Mohammed Kudus.

However, reports have recently suggested that this could be about to happen. The Hammers were once strongly linked with a move for the Bournemouth man, but it seemed like they had moved on until recently.

While not a bad player, Tavernier is hardly one of Bournemouth’s best players, with him being in and out of their starting XI all season,

It just shows a lack of ambition from the top. Clearly, he’s not the sort of player that’s going to push the club back to fighting for Europe, yet this doesn’t seem to be an issue for some. Just staying in the Premier League should no longer be the aim for this club, but a signing like Tavernier would cement that there is no desire to get back in the top half.
