West Ham have appointed a leading Sports Psychologist who worked with Graham Potter previously, it’s been exclusively reported by ExWHUEmployee.
James Bell, who worked with Potter at Brighton, is understood to have been appointed to improve the winning mentality and resilience of the squad, ahead of what is seen as a new era in east London.
The appointment is also one that shows support of Potter, with the former Chelsea boss already joined by his now Head of Recruitment Kyle Macaulay – who West Ham paid compensation to the west London club for during last season.
Reporting exclusively on the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, club insider Ex revealed the appointment of Bell, whilst also adding that a Scout is also set to join the club this summer.
“The club have appointed James Bell as the new Sports Psychologist,” stated Ex. “It’s understood that the remit is to improve the winning mentality and resilience at the club.
“It’s seen as big move for the club and one that further shows the long term thinking surrounding Potter at West Ham, with Bell having worked with him previously at Brighton.
“Furthermore, we also can report that the club are appointing a new scout, who is understood to be overseeing the Italian market.”
