Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Mohammed Kudus, is it time for West Ham to do business with them for the first time since Scott Parker?

West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur is one of the fiercest rivalries in English football, and the rivalry in the boardroom between David Sullivan and Daniel Levy is almost as heated.

Reports suggest the clubs have refused to do business with each other since a fall out involving the transfer of Emmanuel Adebayor in January 2015.

The Hammers were set to sign the former Togo striker on loan for the rest of the season. They had agreed to pay half of his £100,000 wages for the rest of the season, until Daniel Levy blocked the move minutes before the deadline.

The famous David Gold tweet, “Don’t go to bed. DG” was posted because of this imminent transfer, but thanks to Levy a deal didn’t happen. After the deadline, Gold said: “Sorry for keeping you up late but at the last moment the main deal collapsed and the rest folded like a pack of cards.”

Since then, rumours suggest that the Hammers have refused to do any deals with their North London rivals, maybe until now. The Europa League winners are said to be interested in a move for Mo Kudus, and we are short of funds this summer, so we may be forced into selling to the Lilywhites.

As much as I don’t want to sell to them and the fact I think he’d be a massive success there under new manager Thomas Frank, if they’re the only ones offering the money we want for the Ghanaian, we have to accept it. We are a serious Premier League club that wants to get back to challenging for European titles again, we can’t afford to hold grudges against rivals, we have to do what is best for our club.
