West Ham may make a lot less signings than fans expect, according to a board spokesperson.

After last year’s failed rebuild under Tim Steidten, West Ham have been left in need of another one this Summer.

While to many, 5-6 transfers would be the minimum, fans have expected that this could become a bit of a struggle if players aren’t sold soon. However, Hammers News reports, that a spokesperson reported it could be as little as a third of this,

“Who knows,” they said when asked about rebuilding the squad prior to preseason. “We’re working very hard in all directions.”

“I’d settle for three right now!” the West Ham spokesman told Hammers News when asked about how making 5-6 signings. “But never say never.”

This is obviously a worrying sign but it’s important to remember that the board is usually quite pessimistic from all angles. Hopefully this is again a tactic of easing expectations so things look better when they do happen.
