West Ham urged to take £25 million for highly sought after player by former fan favourite.

With West Ham finally putting in some bids for players in the past couple of days, it’s great to see that their transfer window is finally starting. However, they’re still desperate to raise funds and it’s expected that the money will need to be almost entirely generated from player sales.

One of the club’s most sought after commodities is Nayef Aguerd. While it’s been reported elsewhere that he could be sold for just £20 million, Martin Allen believes the club should try to get a bit more. “I think the player has made it absolutely clear that he doesn’t want to be at West Ham,” Allen told West Ham Zone.

“He had a good loan at Real Sociedad, but he didn’t do great for West Ham. If they could get £25m for him and get his wages off the books, that would help with the rebuild that needs to be done this summer.”

“Could he play for Juventus? I think he could, and if they would pay that £25m, then I would take it if I were West Ham.“

Given the season he’s had in Spain, I certainly think £25 million is a fair price. It’s a shame that it’s come to this as there clearly is potential there, unfortunately he just is not cut out for English Football.
