Former West Ham scout says Diouf interest could come from relationship with his agent.
One thing, among many, that West Ham fans can not stand about David Sullivan his how he repeatedly allows agents to get in his ear and generate moves that benefits no one except themselves.
While there was a step away from this, for better or for worse, under Tim Steidten, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the club return to this transfer strategy in some shape or form.
The Hammers have been strongly linked with a move for Slavia Prague’s Diouf, but former scout Mick Brown suggests there may not be the best intentions behind it. “Now they’re looking at the lad from Slavia Prague, who of course they have good links to,” he told Football Insider.
“A lot of that comes from the influence at boardroom level, but they brought in Soucek and Coufal and they know plenty about the players at that club. The Czech part-owner will be playing a big part in it, I’m sure.”
“Diouf’s agent has been speaking to the chairman, which I always think is an issue at West Ham when the chairman starts speaking to different agents. They can’t base the deal just on that, they have to use their scouting knowledge.”
“But it seems like this is a deal they want to do and they’re making good progress towards it.”
Despite being a player most fans would be happy with us signing, if Sullivan is once again being influenced by agents this is an extremely worrying sign of things to come.
