After another shocking season defensively, West Ham are extremely keen to add a central defender to their squad.

While versatile defence Diouf has come closest to joining, it could be Charlie Cresswell who comes through the doors.

Our own ExWHUEmployee exclusively revealed the Hammer’s interest in Cresswell a couple of weeks ago, and Fabrizio Romano has provided an interesting update on the situation.

“Charlie Cresswell can leave Toulouse this summer as Premier League and Serie A clubs have started moving,” Romano wrote on X. “Talks to follow for 22 year old defender after his recent performances.”

With the money from the Kudus sale in the bank, there’s no reason the club can’t start making more moves in the transfer market. Hopefully our Irons can lodge an offer before they lose out on yet another target.
