The Mohammed Kudus to Spurs move has not gone down well with the Hammers fan base. Former West Ham and Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has weighed in with his thoughts on what the Ghanaian could offer Spurs.

The fact that David Sullivan has been willing to do business with Tottenham, when the two clubs haven’t for well over a decade, has left many Hammers fans speechless. West Ham had hoped there would be plenty of interest in Kudus this summer, with multiple offers on the table sparking a potential bidding war.

As the summer transfer window has progressed, it became clear Tottenham were the only interested party willing to put a concrete offer on the table. Tottenham’s first offer of £50 million was turned down by the Hammers, but when Spurs returned with a second offer of £55 million plus add on’s this bid was accepted and the deal has been wrapped up quickly.

West Ham fans have been left with a sour taste in their mouths before the season has even begun. Many fans feel the Club should have held out for more money especially when selling one of the Club’s best talents to their most hated Premier League rivals.

Giving his opinion on the deal, Former West Ham and Spurs manager Harry Redknapp admitted that Kudus is a real talent blessed with plenty of ability, however he did have his reservations regarding the move.

“Yeah he’s not bad.” said Redknapp referring to the Ghanaian forward. He went on to add: “He’s got bags of ability, there’s no doubting his ability. (But) I know one or two people around the place at West Ham, I think there are question marks over him. I think his ability is not questionable but I don’t know.”

This whole saga regarding Mohammed Kudus being sold to Spurs has only added to the growing resentment towards the board as well as the general frustration among the West Ham fan base ahead of the 2025/26 season. The constant pleas of a lack of funds and potential PSR concerns have not gone down well with supporters.

West Ham fans are well aware just how important this summer is. The current first team squad is in desperate need of a rebuild, ultimately, if Graham Potter is not provided with the necessary funds to strengthen the squad and add to his current options then the Hammers will almost certainly be in for a long and tough campaign.

As for Mohammed Kudus. West Ham fans have been left angry and embarrassed with the board all too willing to sell one of the Club’s top talents to Tottenham. Kudus is a gifted footballer with a high ceiling, his first season in Claret and Blue was truly remarkable. With his significant drop in form last season in mind, West Ham fans are all too familiar with seeing a player struggle, move on to pastures new and find their form again and set the world alight.

Seeing Kudus hit the heights he is capable of in a Tottenham shirt would be a bitter pill to swallow for any West Ham supporter out there.
