West Ham reportedly want to sign a world cup winner, but why?

After a long wait, West Ham have finally made their first signing of the Summer in Diouf. The defender was wanted by some big clubs around Europe, but he was always keen on a move to East London.

However, despite this, it’s been claimed that West Ham want to sign Tagliafico. The Argentine is someone the club had interest in a few years ago, but a move never materialised.

Although he’s a world cup winner, it would be a completely pointless signing. Firstly, he’s 32-years-old now; well past his best. Secondly, his injury record is absolutely horrific, something our Irons need to avoid given their recent history. Finally, and most importantly, Diouf and Scarles are already at the club, signing another left back doesn’t make any sense.
