West Ham respond to claims that Harvey Elliott will not be joining the club.
With Kyle Walker-Peters having his medical with the club, attention is believed to be on improving the midfield.
While it’s been seen as optimistic, there’s genuine interest in Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott. Unfortunately, Alex Crook believes that the club are “being priced out of a move.”
“The Hammers have held talks with Liverpool over England Under-21 hero Elliott,” he told talkSPORT, “however, talkSPORT understands the Reds’ asking price of £40m-plus is likely to be too rich for the East Enders.”
Thankfully, Hammers News have provided a more hopeful update. “It’s a tough market this summer,” a club spokesman told them. “With Elliott there is a chance, it is only a small chance, but never say never.”
Realistically, it is unlikely to happen, but what a signing it would be. If you ignore his off the pitch controversies, there is no denying he’s a top talent. Hopefully, something can be arranged.
