The not guilty verdict of Lucas Paqueta is set to have a huge impact on West Ham’s summer transfer window.

It was a verdict all were hoping for and which felt justified, especially after a clear lack of evidence throughout the ridiculously long drawn out affair, which has taken a tremendous toll Paquetas mental health.

Two years the Brazilian has been fighting to clear his name, during what has been a shameful investigation by the Football Association, who seem to have dragged their feet throughout in a desperate attempt to nail the player.

Thankfully the evidence was never there, and Paqueta can now finally draw a line and get ready for the next chapter of his career.

Although many fans will hope he will stay, it’s understandable that he wants to move on and likely go back to his homeland, be around family after such a torrid 24 months.

West Ham though are now in a far better position this summer, as we look set to sell the talented play maker, as we now get set to ramp up our transfer window and land key targets.

A move for Harvey Elliot is set to be pushed ahead with, with the player seen as the ideal option to step into the shoes of the departing Paqueta.

Paqueta will leave with nothing but love from the West Ham fans and it will be fully reciprocated.
