West Ham are set to accelerate our pursuit of a new goalkeeper this summer with a move expected very soon, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The club have so far brought in Mallick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters this transfer window, following Daniel Cummings and Jean Clair-Todibo’s permanent arrivals at the conclusion of last season.

It’s fair to say there is still more for the club to do in terms of squad building this summer, with a high expectation on midfield reinforcements, with our insider Ex has advised is a big priority for Graham Potter and Kyle Macaulay.

However, reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, Ex has advised that the next priority position on the list is a goalkeeper, with the performance of Alphonse Areola against Manchester United a serious concern.

Speaking to a top source within the club, its been reported by Ex that a move is expected this week, with 3 main targets identified as we look to get a deal concluded as we then focus on bringing in players who can transform our current midfield.

“I can report that the main priority for the club this week is securing a new goalkeeper,” stated Ex. “I put this to a top source who said ‘I am driving the recruitment team mad – this is now a top priority’.

“I expect moves to happen this week, with it still my understanding that the main choice is Zion Suzuki of Palma – however its not clear if he wants to depart Italy yet in his career.

“Mads Hermansen is another the club are very very keen on, with the player having worked with new goalkeeper coach Casper Ankergren previously at Brondby.

“As I reported exclusively again also, we hold a serious interest too in Michael Cooper at Sheffield United. Although he is a Will Salthouse player, I understand he is a player identified by Potter and Macaulay.

“So having that relationship with the player could well help us strike a deal. It does appear those 3 are the front runners, with a move for a new goalkeeper expected imminently.”
