Jarrod Bowen has revealed the one thing he’s worked on the most during his time at West Ham.
While it may seem a bit biassed coming from a West Ham site, there’s genuinely an argument that Jarrod Bowen is one of the most underrated players in the Premier League. For some reason, there’s a large number of people who just don’t rate the winger, despite him being statistically one of the best in the league.
Year after year, the Englishman just gets better and better. Whether the Hammers are flying, or whether they’re battling relegation, Bowen consistently performs at an incredible standard.
When he first joined the club, his biggest weakness was obvious though: he hardly had a right foot.
However, it’s something he’s worked hard on, and his superb strike against Manchester United is just one example of how much he’s improved his weak foot.
“Shooting with my right foot is something I’ve been working on for five or six years now, maybe even longer from my days at Hull,” Bowen told the official site. “When you’re a winger playing on the opposite side you often find yourself in those sorts of positions, and you want to keep the defender guessing.”
“I’m always looking to get better, in any way I can. Every day after training I’ll do ten shots on my right foot, and some of them don’t go as well as they did today! Some go in different directions, but it’s important to keep working on things and trying to improve.”
“Today it went in, and to score here at the MetLife was really cool. My Dad is a Giants fan – unfortunately he wasn’t here, but it’s still a nice touch.”
