West Ham have made Jacob Ramsey our number one target as talks continue with Aston Villa, as ExWHUEmployee provides an update.

It was exclusively revealed by our insider that the club had grown in confidence of late in being able to secure a deal to bring the highly-rated Villa midfielder to east London, to add pace and power to Graham Potters side this summer.

Ex has now provided an update on the situation, with it understood that the midlands club are looking to raise funds and therefore cash in on the player, with West Ham now making him our top midfield target as we seek to get a deal over the line.

“As exclusively revealed by The West Ham Way, a target is Jacob Ramsey of Aston Villa,” stated Ex. “We were told that the player wasn’t keen on a move to West Ham and wanted to stay at his boyhood club however it appears that Villa are looking to sell him.

“So the player may have to accept that he does need to move and with Will Salthouse as his agent we know he will promote a move to West Ham.

“He has been made our number one target in midfield and we plan to meet with the player again in the coming days. It is thought that Aston Villa would entertain a reasonable offer.”

Ex also provided an update on Mateus Fernandes, with the club continuing to target the Southampton midfielder, although at present this appears to be a tougher deal to get done.

“Southampton’s Portuguese midfielder Mateus Fernandes is also a target too,” added Ex. “We have submitted an offer for the player but around 12 other clubs have done the same.

“He and his agent are said to prefer a move to Europe. There was some talk that James Ward-Prowse could be offered back in exchange for the player too but at the moment it is a pure cash offer.”

In other news relating to our new goalkeeper pursuit, Ex has provided an update on the state of play, with both Mads Hermansen and Zion Suzuki the main targets, as the club hope to get a deal agreed soon.

“Talks will continue with both Parma and Leicester today for both goalkeepers,” Ex stated. “It is hoped that both will lower their prices. The club don’t intend to sign both but will make a decision soon on which one they agree to sign.

“There has been some movement from Parma/Susuki too. So we will see how this plays out today and keep you updated if and when we hear more.”
