West Ham will not be retaining Michail Antonio for the upcoming season, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.
It has been a long running question since the conclusion of last season, whether the club would agree a route back for Antonio following his terrible road traffic accident last year.
Although the player has made a sensational recovery considering his injuries and has even featured for the U21’s in pre-season. However, despite a short-term deal being offered, its now looking like his days at the club are over as a player, with it all but confirmed he will be departing east London.
Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, club insider Ex spoke to a top source regarding the current state of play, with it said that the player its a big ask for a man of his age to be playing at Premier League level.
“When asked about whether Antonio would play for Potter this season, the manager, in an interview in the USA responded with a one word answer of ‘No’,” stated Ex.
“When asked whether this does in fact spell the end for Antonio. The top source replied with ‘It’s a very big ask to play in the PL at 36’.”
“You can never write off the miracle man and who knows what the future holds, but for now it seems his brilliant time at the club has come to an end.”
