West Ham are reportedly expected to make a move for Josh Brownhill.
West ham have made two new signings this Summer, only one of which they actually paid a transfer fee for. While they were always said to have a limited budget, the sale of Mohammed Kudus was thought to have alleviated this a little.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be the case as the club are still actively pursuing cheaper options rather than the ones that will improve the squad the most.
This trend of signing free transfers looks like it could be extended, with recent reports claiming the Hammers could sign Josh Brownhill in the coming weeks.
Brownhill is someone the club have held interest in for some time, but the fact he’s available for free seems to be tempting the club’s owners.
Although his stats in the Premier League aren’t great, he’s just come off the back of an unbelievable season for the Clarets where he scored 16 goals and 8 assists. Admittedly, he wouldn’t be many fans first choice, but it could be a smart signing given the lack of a transfer fee.
