West Ham priced out of transfer by huge wage demands.

With the Premier League season just a week away from kicking off, West Ham fans will be feeling underwhelmed with their transfer window so far.

Diouf, Walker-Peters, Wilson, and (hopefully) Hermansen have joined, but this still leaves the weak midfield untouched.

Surprisingly though, reports seem to suggest that the Hammers may still sign players for other areas before sorting their midfield.

It’s been claimed that Raheem Sterling is a target, but a move is extremely unlikely.

West Ham’s current highest earner, Lucas Paqueta, is on around £150k a week – Sterling earns double that.

There’s absolutely no world where our owners pay those sorts of wages, especially not for a player who’s struggled like Sterling has in recent years. It would take Chelsea subsidising a massive chunk of his salary to make a deal even plausible.
