West Ham’s budget to improve their midfield has been revealed, and it’s not positive.
Prior to the sale of Mohamed Kudus, West Ham’s board were constantly talking about PSR, despite every financial expert claiming there was very little chance of a breach.
However, due to the way player sales are calculated under the regulations, there’s absolutely no excuse for not spending money.
Despite this, the board are still being extremely tight with their money, with them constantly trying to get cheap deals (hence why Wilson was signed).
With the goalkeeper situation looking like it’s going to be resolved in the coming days, attention must turn to improving the midfield. Frustratingly though, the recruitment team apparently have very little funds to do so.
According to reports, unless players are sold, West Ham have just £30 million to spend on players. Considering they need to sign both a holding midfielder and a creative one, they’re either going to have to sacrifice quality or find some hidden gems if they don’t raise further funds.
