Michail Antonio says he’s not done with professional football despite joining TNT Sports’ commentary team.

As sad as it is, we saw the last of Michail Antonio in claret and blue without even realising it. The club’s all time record goal scorer in the Premier League era has been a joy to watch, playing a crucial role in one of the most successful periods West Ham have ever experienced.

While he was offered a contract, he deemed the “pay as you play” model unacceptable.

Although he’s joined TNT Sports as a pundit, he’s eager to point out that this is not the end of his playing career.

“No, definitely not,” he told talkSPORT when asked if he was retiring. “I’m speaking to clubs right now to see where the best offer is for me to go, and we’ll just see how it goes.”

“To be honest, there’s a mixture [of clubs], we’re talking to clubs here, we’re talking to clubs abroad, but I’m going to leave it very vague – talk to clubs in England and abroad.”

He also highlighted his ambition to play for Jamaica in next year’s World Cup, but it’s also about that fact  he wouldn’t want his “career to come to an end by a car crash, literally. “

“So I’ve got something to prove to show that I can come back, I can come back and play well, which I was doing for the last ten years.”

“Even before I did the car crash, I was starting for West Ham, so it shows that I’ve still got the ability about me and I can do it again.

Hopefully, Antonio is able to find the right club for him, but it would be a painful sight seeing him walk out at the London Stadium in another Premier League side’s kit.
