West Ham United to make an approach for Leicester’s Bilal El Khannouss after missing out on Matheus Fernandes of Southampton.

Graham Potter’s top target was Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, but they were priced out and the player wants Champions League football, our next target was Jacob Ramsey, then Matheus Fernandes and neither of those happened either, for exactly the same reasons, so we’re on to the nest alternative.

That alternative is expected to be Leicester City’s El Khannouss. According to Claret & Hugh the Hammers have a list of options after missing out on three targets. The most likely at the moment is Leicester’s Moroccan star due to his reported £22.5m release clause.

Claret and Hugh‘s source said: “West Ham are looking at a number of players from the Championship. Some got relegated last season.” While this far from confirms our interest in El Khannouss, the club are known to have scouted and be interested in the Moroccan.

West Ham have already done business with the Foxes this summer after signing Mads Hermansen, so this could make negotiations a lot smoother than with other clubs.
